CityVille Jumbo Port: Everything you need to know

Your waterfront in CityVille is likely a pretty crowded place, filled with docks and ports for all sorts of boats, both for earning Goods or for bringing in tourists, but you may now luckily save very a bit of space by building a Jumbo Port, a bigger structure that serves as multiple Cruise / City Ports in one! Once you have reached Level 20, you can build one of these Jumbo Cruise Ports, which can be upgraded to eventually hold the equivalent 25 Cruise Ships. Here's a complete look at its construction.

For the beginning Jumbo Cruise Port, you will require to spend five energy to complete its base, and must then ask your friends for building materials to finish it off:

    4 Green Hawaiian Shirts
    4 Blue Hawaiian Shirts
    4 Yellow Hawaiian Shirts
    4 Red Hawaiian Shirts
    4 Orange Hawaiian Shirts

These items are earned via a combination of general news posts and individual demands sent out to friends. When you have gathered all of these materials, you will have a Jumbo Port that can hold just four ships. You can send these ships to five different locations, ranging in price from 5000 Goods to 125 City Cash, and can then start upgrading the Jumbo Port to hold even more Cruise Ships and tourists. The upgrades are earned by simply collecting more and more Hawaiian Shirts, in larger quantities each time.

Here's the breakdown of how many ships a Jumbo Port will hold, based on level.

    Level 1: 4 Ships
    Level 2: 10 Ships
    Level 3: 16 Ships
    Level 4: 20 Ships
    Level 5: 25 Ships

Hopefully, this Jumbo Port will offer you city enough productivity to save on waterfront space, allowing you to take advantage of any other features that utilize that space in the future. Good luck on upgrading this Jumbo Port to its highest level, a task that is much easier said than done!

The Sims Social - Earn a free Progressive Snapshot Microphone for your pad

If you have grown to ignore the green "rewards" checkbox that sits to the right of the Sims Social gameplay area, you will want to click on it at least a few times in a next couple of days, as a new item has been added to the rewards lineup: a Progressive Snapshot Microphone.

Unfortunately, receiving this microphone is easier said than done, as the promotion seems to be randomized. That is, you can click on the green checkmark and will receive a promotional video for another product, other than Progressive. Many probably, you will receive Lipton iced tea commercials, which will reward you with free energy, but not the mic stand.

Our suggestion? Keep completing the promotions that you are offered, and then refresh the game to be given a new chance at the Progressive Microphone Stand. If we come across a direct link that will let you claim the microphone stand in your game, we will make sure to let you know. Good luck earning one in your own game!

Have you been able to earn the Progress Snapshot Microphone for your Sim's pad, or are you still trying to get this particular video to show up for you? Sound off in the comments!

Ruby Blast tips dug up by its creator and Zynga's best player

Judging by the outcomes of a recent Facebook Game Face-off, you guys and gals really--I mean, really--dig Ruby Blast. Zynga's many recent arcade game on the network needs far more skill and finesse than the developer's 'Ville games. You might think you have the maximum score, and you likely do. Well, at least the maximum score among your friends, but have you met Berto?

The name's Berto Alvaro, a lead designer on Zynga Poker who just so happens to hold the maximum Ruby Blast score within all of Zynga: 9,009,390. (For those keeping score, that's among some 3,000 plus employees.) So, among Alvaro and the Ruby Blast teams at Zynga Seattle and Zynga China, we are absolutely certain that their tips can give you a much required edge against your buddies:

Nova Flare, Starfall, and Cherry Bombs are the fastest way to help you take to the marker. Finding matching groups are less frequent the deeper you go, so try to save Shuffle Magic for deeper areas of the mine. You can also use this to help take passed the line, but it's not as instantaneous as one of the explosive power-ups.

Save "regular bombs", drills, Nova Flares, Starfall and Cherry Bombs for the last 10 seconds to help drill downward. Spend time learning what every one does, and you will rapidly pick up how to conserve them better over time.

Focus on matching as most gems in a row as possible. Click 10 sets in a row (with no pauses in between) and you will hit "blast mode". Click 10 more throughout blast mode, and the row above and below the line gets blasted. This is helpful for clear those tough-to-blast obstacles in the mine.

Speaking of, beware of non-purple rocks: Those rocks need 2 blasts, so try and use a power-up when one comes up.

Focus on sets at the bottom at the line. These'll blast the un-bricked areas around them and get you passed the line. Remember, the further down you get, the less frequent sets appear. So, working the bottom increases your chances of getting sets since more bricks shift around when cleared.

Top 25 Facebook games - August 2012: It's Zynga versus the world

If you look at this month's AppData chart for the top 25 Facebook games (daily players), it looks almost as if Zynga is beset on all sides by the competition. Smack in the middle of the FarmVille maker's domination of the charts are King.com's Bubble Witch Saga and Candy Crush Saga in in fifth and sixth place as well as Wooga's Diamond Dash in the seven spot. Then a new challenger seems.

FreshPlanet, with its mega hit SongPop, encroaches upon Zynga's waning stranglehold on the top 10 with 3.1 million everyday players in 11th place. There is no denying that these games are on this list because they are popular with the players. But the fact that games like CityVille and Hidden Chronicles are on the slide--to the tune of 700,000 and 500,000 daily players, respectively--certainly gives them a hefty nudge.

Other notable newcomers to the list in daily players, which is, frankly, the many trustworthy measure for reach, are Social Point's Dragon City with 2.2 million everyday players in spot 17, Pool Live Tour by Geewa with 2.1 million and Playfish and EA's SimCity Social in 23rd place with 1.7 million daily players. Given recent events surrounding Zynga, the FarmVille best watch its back.

Threads of Mystery - High fashion meets murder mystery on Facebook

With Gardens of Time, Blackwood & Bell Mysteries and Disney Animal Kingdom Explorers, one might think that Playdom has sufficient hidden object games in its catalog, but there is seemingly room for at least one more, as the developer has officially launched Threads of Mystery on Facebook.

Threads of Mystery takes us to modern day Paris, where we will be contacted by the ghost of our great aunt, a once famous fashion designer that was murdered on her wedding day. Her memories have become cloudy during her time in the afterlife, and the mystery behind her murder was never solved. It'll be up to you to travel throughout Paris collecting clues surrounding your aunt's past and a suspicious romance that was ultimately never meant to be.

In Threads of Mystery, you will be able to restore your aunt's fashion house by placing themed machines that will craft clothing items above time. These items help unlock additional hidden object scenes for you to explore, as will simply adding decorations to the home. Many scenes include 12 hidden objects, with plenty of clues and even building materials thrown in.

If nothing else, it seems as although Threads of Mystery has a more in-depth storyline than Playdom's other hidden object games, but we will have full thinkings on the game's true quality at a later date. For now, sense free to get a head start on yet another Playdom hidden object game, and stay tuned for tricks, tips, strategy guides and more as we dive straight into this new game!

FarmVille Sneak Peek - Unicorn Island coming soon!

If you are a fan of unicorns, as so most FarmVille players are, then an upcoming game feature will probably send you to the moon (figuratively speaking, of course). Soon, we will be able to construct and build a Unicorn Island, complete with rainbow clovers, golden hearts and other fun and whimsical items.

This feature will probably be launched sometime within the next week, as the building materials for constructing the Unicorn Island are already available in the game's store: Rainbow Clovers, Enchanted Blossoms and Hearts of Gold. also, if you head into the game's store and search for "Unicorn," you will find 4 new Unicorns that are existing to purchase for Farm Cash.

Pirate Unicorn - 65 Farm Cash
Bubble Gum Unicorn - 35 Farm Cash
Ballerina Unicorn - 40 Farm Cash
Rainbow Unicorn - 50 Farm Cash

If you can not wait, then by all means shell out the Farm Cash to buy these animals now, but I'd personally suggest waiting until the Unicorn Island itself launches in full, just in case there is a way to earn these 4 Unicorns for free. Either way, this looks like the first of most waves of Unicorn-themed content that will be released in FarmVille over the next few weeks and months. If we are lucky, this'll be as major a feature as the dinosaur themed content that continues to be existing, giving us something prettier to focus on instead! Stay tuned for more, as we will make sure you are the first to know when you may start building your very own Unicorn Island on your farm(s)!

What do you think of the idea of a Unicorn Island? Do you hope this will allow us to earn Unicorns for free, or are you fine purchasing the animals for Farm Cash? Sound off in the comments!

CityVille Meteor Crash Site - Everything you need to know

The science labs in your CityVille town are abuzz with action this weekend, as a meteor has crash landed on the outskirts of your city! Focused on the scientific discoveries this might lead to, you are being pressured by said scientists to extend out to the meteor crash site through a new feature of the same name. There is a goal to go along with this feature called "A Deep Impact," and we are here with a guide on what's up.

A Deep Impact

Expand to the Meteor Crash Site
    Collect 30 Shooting Stars
Send your Space Shuttle to Jupiter

The Shooting Stars are earned by posting general news posts on your wall asking all neighbors for help. While you are waiting for them to arrive, you may send your Space Shuttle to Jupiter by collecting Star Fuel. Each Jupiter mission takes just 60 minutes, and you may find out more about this mission and others in our complete guide. eventually, the many complex portion of this goal will see you expanding either 1 or 2 squares out from your current town's borders to reach the Meteor Crash Site. This item is ultimately a community building, allowing for 2,000 extra citizens to live in your town, but it is more visually impressive than anything else.

If you have already expanded to the full allowance of the game's current map, you will simply find this Meteor Crash Site in your inventory, and may place it (should you actually have room to do so - the thing's massive!). For completing this overall goal, you will receive ten Sun Fuels, which are used back in the Space Shuttle feature. Of course, this goal and presumably the Meteor Crash Site itself won't be around forever, so make sure to expand and complete this goal sooner, rather than later, if you are interested in the prizes therein. Good luck!

What do you think of this Meteor Crash Site? Does your town have room to hold this massive item? Sound off in the comments!
